As Rochdale prepare to take on Peterborough United at the Crown Oil Arena this Saturday, Calvin Andrew has told iFollow that it’s important the players take the positives from Tuesday night’s performance at Charlton into the match.
Andrew believes the midweek display at The Valley was much more Dale like and he says going into games with that same endeavour and attitude will be key.
“We all know, myself included, that the performance at Oldham wasn’t where it should have been.
“It was disheartening looking at the table and seeing that we didn’t have the points on the board after not playing well at the same time, but Tuesday night was very uplifting.
“Yes, we didn’t get the points that we wanted, but the performance was much better and a lot more like us. The performance, the endeavour and the attitude were all there, so if we go into games with that winning appetite and mentality then we should be okay.
“We have to take the positives from Tuesday into Saturday. That game sparked something in us to go forward and do exactly what we did then. Obviously we need to improve and be better to grind out a result, but there was definitely some fighting spirit from us at Charlton.”
