“It was a big risk [the formation] what we did today, but we tried to come up with a solution within our squad for the opposition and it made common sense to do it today.
“It won’t be forever, it won’t be for Tuesday or for the upcoming league fixture – it just suited us to be able to do it today, because of the flexibility within the squad.
“We kept a clean sheet, we’ve scored two goals and in the second half we possibly could have scored more on the counter attack.
“If I take away results, I want a certain character to play positions and I’ve had a group of characters on the field today who performed good characteristics of the way that you need to win football matches.
“Like I said during the week, if they give me everything, then I’ll forgive them for everything. That’s what I got on Tuesday – we didn’t get the result against Charlton during the week but we got it today.”
