The experienced Keith Keane discusses Tenerife so far and his first pre-season at Dale…
The 30-year-old joined the club in August last year, missing the annual training trip to the T3. Keane admits the intensity of the sessions are tough, but says he expects nothing different.
“The week is good but I’m obviously tired because we don’t come out here for a holiday.
“Every session that we do is hard but that’s what we come out here for.
“We come out here to go our fitness up and get away from everything back home so we can just concentrate on the football.
“This is my 14th pre-season and not one of them has been easy, but you come to know what to expect from one. No matter where you are – whether it be Rochdale or Tenerife, the Gaffer doesn’t change. You know what to expect and you know what you’re going to get from him.
“The philosophy stays the same and he just keeps drumming it home to every single player, and when everyone is doing what he wants, it makes us a better team. We work hard as a team because we’re all on the same page. We know what’s expected and we go out to try and do it.”
