We're Through To The Fourth Round Of The FA Cup - Keith Hill

8 January 2017

Manager Keith Hill reflects on his side’s 2-0 win over Barrow, a result which sees Dale progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup for the third time in four years…

“The lads want to do well in every game.

“There was no fear of losing this football match because we had an intention of coming here and playing our game, and we did.

“I don’t think there was ever a shock on the cards with respect to the way we started the game, and there was no negligence in the way that we played and approached the game.

“We were superb at set-plays against and we were brilliant at attacking. We probably should have scored more goals.

“We missed a few opportunities but Hendo has converted two. The second goal is a brilliant move and a superb pass from Ollie.

“I’ll take 2-0 all day, every day. We’re through to the fourth round of the FA Cup and I’m sure the Chairman will enjoy a glass of red wine tonight.”

Hill was also full of praise for Saturday’s opponents.

“We fully respected the opposition before the game, during the game and after the game. I’m sure they’re going to do really well in the conference this season. They’re up there, they’re fighting for a play-off place and they’re a very strong outfit.”

As for the fourth round draw, the Gaffer is just looking forward to it.

"I'm not bothered who we get in the next round because we just want to go as far as we possibly can.

"I know I've got a good, young, energetic side with some really good experienced players and if we all do the right things and continue performing like we are doing, then anything is possible."
