It Was Good To Get Back Out There - Peter Vincenti

23 January 2017

Peter Vincenti has told Dale PlayerHD that it was “good to get back out there” after making his return from injury on Saturday.

Vincenti was introduced as a half-time substitute against Oxford United, his first appearance since September.

“It’s a positive to get back out there,” said Vincenti.

“I’ve never had an injury likes this, with such a lengthy time off. It was quite a long road to recovery.

“It has been good to play in the recent bounce games and it was good to get back out there today, but there’s plenty more work I need to do. I still need to build my fitness up but it was nice to be back involved.”

And while he admits being out for so long was a frustrating time for him, Vincenti also says his time on the side lines was made much easier due to Dale doing so well on the pitch.

“It was frustrating to be out, but to be honest, with the lads winning, it actually made it easier for me.

"I’m not a good watcher of games, so it was a lot easier watching when the lads are winning. At least I wasn’t too stressed while being out.”

Saturday’s defeat to the U’s was Dale’s first loss at home in the league since August, a run which stretched 11 games without defeat.

Vincenti says that a great record for any team to have.

“To have won 10 games on the bounce and drawn the other is a great record for anybody to have.

“It’s disappointing to lose at home but the lads have been brilliant so far this season. We’ll put it behind us, we’ll learn from it and we’ll move on.

“We’ve got the FA Cup to look forward to on Saturday now and then we’ll get back into the league.”
