Move On & Don't Dwell - Keith Hill Ahead of Blackburn Rovers Trip

24 December 2017

Manager Keith Hill has told iFollow that he won’t dwell on Saturday’s draw with Walsall as his side prepare for the Boxing Day trip to Ewood Park.

“You can make too much of disappointment - just move on and don’t dwell.

“Disappointment is a big word but I wouldn’t be disappointed if I got a pair of socks for Christmas. You’ve got to accept the challenges - it’s hard but we’ve all got to stick together. If we don’t then we’re doomed, but if we do, then we’ll bounce.

“We’re in on Christmas Eve, but I’ve never been in on Christmas Day, so regardless of what’s happening in the league or results wise, I think players deserve to be with their family. It’s counter-productive bringing players in on Christmas Day, and I trust them. We roll into tomorrow [Christmas Eve], Christmas Day and then Boxing Day at Ewood Park.”

Rovers currently sit third in the table and are on an 11 game unbeaten league run. Hill believes they should clinch automatic promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

“They should win the league hands down. Whatever anyone says about Wigan and Blackburn, they’re spending the best money on the best players in League One and they’ve both got teams that should be playing Championship football.

“That’s just basic facts and stats, and I wish them all the best after we play them on Tuesday.”
