We'll Go There With A Committment To Win The Game - Keith Hill

8 November 2016

Rochdale head to Hartlepool United on Wednesday night for their final Checkatrade Trophy group stage game.

Dale currently top group F after winning one and drawing the other of their opening two fixtures.

Speaking ahead of the match, Manager Keith Hill says he’s looking for a committed performance at Victoria Park.

“This game provides us with an opportunity to go through to the knock-out stages," said Hill.

"The bigger picture is that we want to go through so we’re desperate to get points from this game.

“Our intention is to go there and put in a good performance that will hopefully yield us the points that we need.

“I expect hard-work, endeavour, endurance, a commitment and a pleasure to play football attitude regardless of the competition, so that’s what I’m looking for.”

Hill has a depleted squad to choose from but he has confirmed that he will make changes for the match.

“We will probably make the quota of changes that we’re allowed to make in this competition.

“I feel as though Aaron Morley [who made his first team debut in last month’s Checkatrade Trophy tie v Notts County] deserves his opportunity to play again, so he’ll play in the competition for as long as we’re in it.

“We’re another player down with Matty Lund going to meet up with the Northern Ireland squad but it’s a pleasure to play football matches and we’re looking to go to Hartlepool to perform with a smile on our faces but also with a commitment to win the game.”
