Rochdale AFC Traineeship Programme Underway

2 November 2016

Trainees start six-week programme at the Crown Oil Arena...

Earlier this season, Rochdale AFC partnered with Northern Apprenticeships to provide a unique training programme for young people looking to gain work experience.

The six-week programme, which aims to enhance their future career prospects, is now underway and we’re delighted to announce that seven trainees have enrolled on the course.

The trainees spend two days a week in the classroom at the Crown Oil Arena and three days gaining work experience around the ground by carrying out duties such as painting and general maintenance work. Thanks to their hard-work, the Sandy Lane has had a lick of paint.

Whilst in the classroom, trainees will achieve a Level 1 Customer Service qualification and gain functional skills including Maths & English, Communication, Professionalism, Rapport Building and Client Satisfaction.

There is an ‘Employability’ element of the course which involves CV writing, mock interviews and applying for jobs – all vital skills needed to secure future employment.
