Festival On The Winning Team As Rochdale AFC Join In ‘Feel Good’ Fun

16 June 2016

Rochdale Football Club is backing this summer’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival, and has signed-up to be one of the event’s main sponsors.

As part of the agreement Dale will be an official festival partner, marketing the event to fans during pre-season and at our home games during the opening month of the season.

We will again take part in the festival itself on the 19 and 20 August. The Dale in the Community Sport Trust team will host football skills sessions, there will be a festival club shop selling our new training wear and replica shirts, plus guest appearances by mascot Desmond the Dragon!

Rochdale Football Club Sales and Marketing Manager Frances Fielding, said: “We got an amazing response at Rochdale Feel Good Festival last year with a lot of interest from the public so we are looking forward to building on that for 2016 with some new ideas.  Loads of our supporters are fans of the festival and it’s the biggest event in the borough so it’s a partnership we were keen to renew.”

Councillor Janet Emsley, Cabinet Member for Culture, Health and Wellbeing at Rochdale Borough Council visited Spotland Stadium and said: “This gives the festival a real boost and we’re looking forward to working with Rochdale AFC again. The event continues to grow in popularity with over 16,000 visits last year in the town centre.”

Rochdale Feel Good Festival, on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 August, features live music across indoor venues, a main stage sponsored by The Flying Horse Hotel, which will be headlined by The Fratellis against the backdrop of the town hall, and Stage 2 – a second outdoor stage. Chefs and food producers including Chris Bavin, Nisha Katona, Aazam Ahmad, Andrew Nutter, Tom McNeeney and Guo Yue will host live cooking demonstrations throughout and the festival will also include the popular food market.

The event is funded by Rochdale Borough Council together with sponsorship from Rochdale Football Club, The Flying Horse Hotel, Link4Life, The Royal Toby, Balfour Beatty and other local businesses.
