Keith Hill's Post-Match Reaction - MK Dons

20 August 2016

A “gutted” manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale PlayerHD after Saturday’s stoppage time defeat to MK Dons…

Scott Wootton headed home from a controversial free-kick in the dying seconds of the match to claim victory for the visitors.

“It’s a horrible feeling when you lose a game in that manner, especially one where I thought we were very good,” said Hill.

“I’m gobsmacked. I thought we did more than enough for at least a point.

“To throw away the game at the end in the manner that we did stinks of lack of concentration and discipline. The players know that because we go through what they need to do at set plays all the time. We walk through it and we go through it - there should be no gray areas.

“The fact of the matter is, we’ve made a team mistake and it has cost us this game and the performance, because I was more than reasonably happy with the performance.

“MK Dons are an excellent side, there’s no question about that. We took the game to them but I’m stood here talking about us not getting something from the game when we should have got something from it. We have to get rid of that naivety.”
