Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce that Joe Thompson has signed a short term contract with the club.
The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a six-month contract.
Thompson started his career at Dale, coming through the youth ranks before being offered professional terms.
After making over 150 appearances for Rochdale, the long-serving midfielder left the club to join Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2012. During his time at Prenton Park, Thompson returned to the Crown Oil Arena on a month long loan.
He went on to sign for Bury in 2014 and has most recently been at Carlisle United.
