Conrad Logan: It’s Great To Be Back

10 August 2016

Conrad Logan has told Dale PlayerHD that it’s “great to be back” after signing a six-month contract at the club.

“I enjoyed my time here the last time I was here. I had a good spell so I am looking forward to a new challenge.

“All of my memories here apart from my injury were positive and good, so it’s great to be back. I enjoyed working with the people that were here at the time, and I had a good spell performance wise as well.

“My time here was obviously was cut short due to the injury and I went straight back to Leicester, but they [Manager Keith Hill and Goalkeeping Coach Steve Collis] have always kept in touch. I actually came up here and trained for a couple of days after I returned from my injury. The door was always open for me to come and train if and when I needed to, which was great.”

After a 16-month lay-off, Logan signed for Scottish Championship side Hibernian last season and saved two penalties in their Scottish Cup semi-final, sealing their place in the final of the competition. He played in the final against Rangers, helping Hibs lift the Cup for the first time 114 years.

“It was a fairy tale that day,” said Logan as he reflected on the semi-final. “It couldn’t have gone any better for a debut at a club.

“And after being out for so long, it made all the hard work over the 16 months worth it, especially to come back on such a big stage at Hampden Park and get through to a final.

“It happened quickly, and maybe quicker than I anticipated at the time, because I had only really been back training for a few days when I got the phone call to go up there and I was thrown in at the deep end. It worked out brilliantly during the couple of months that I was up there and I really enjoyed my time there.”

Logan says he has kept himself fit over the summer months but admits he knows he’ll have to work hard.

“I’ve been training all over the summer and I’m now ready to kick on and hopefully hit the ground running.

“I need to work hard to try and get the shirt and the get a game first of all. I just need to get my head down and see what happens.”
