Keith Hill Excited By Dale's FA Cup Second Round Tie

11 November 2015

Manager Keith Hill has told Dale PlayerHD that he “was really excited” when he saw the draw for the second round of the Emirates FA cup.

Monday’s draw paired Rochdale with local rivals Bury, with the tie due to played on the weekend of December 5th.

Hill hopes the game will attract TV coverage.

“I think it’s a stand out tie in the FA Cup with it being a local derby.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s touted for a TV game. I know in the early rounds the media cover the non-league sides but looking at the whole draw then it’s a stand out fixture. I’m really excited about it.”

When asked if he’s ready for his friendship with Bury Manager Dave Flitcroft to once again attract media interest, he commented: “I don’t mind going through it, but to be honest, it’s not about me and Flicker. We’re trying to compete in League One or whenever we match each other up in a fixture.

“It has been thrown into the hat that we’re going to compete against each other in the FA Cup and it’s exciting. There’s the prospect of going through to the next round and a full house at Spotland.

“I really do hope we get the TV game.”
