Desmond the Dragon was his usual mischievous self on Saturday as he entertained the crowd at Saturday’s Christmas lights switch on event.
The friendly mascot appeared on the main stage alongside Rochdale Hornets players for the all-important countdown, before the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Surinder Biant and Cecile Biant, and Father Christmas switched on the lights to mark the start of the festive season in Rochdale.
Desmond then took centre-stage and showed off his moves, as he danced with the Mayoress in front of the hundreds of locals, who turned out for the event.
Before the lights switch-on, club staff sold a host of Dale merchandise from a stall at the busy indoor Town Hall Christmas Markets.
