Manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale Player following Tuesday night’s 4-0 win over Crewe Alexandra…
He was delighted with the performance and the energy shown by his players.
“I knew that even if we hadn’t won tonight [Tuesday] that we were building again. We’ve been searching for the right balance to the side and we’ve found it again.
“It had been a very, very difficult February, but the performance against Bristol City was balanced. It had a synergy, and even although we didn’t get the result, the team looked good and they re-found themselves.
“I’m really pleased with the performance and the attitude of the players. They had the energy again tonight and we’ve been searching for that.
“February had taken its toll mentally, but it’s a new month and we’ve started it well.”
He continued: “I thought we were quite bright and there was a wrestle on in the early stages of the game. Crewe had changed their shape but it was just a question of whether or not we could employ what we wanted to do and we did.
“The result is reward to the players. We’ve been searching for that balance and it’s not always been visible in the games that we’ve played.
“When you consider February as a calendar of fixtures, it was very, very difficult for us. We lost four but we have a little bit of back bone, we’ve got a little bit of spirit and good young energy.
“I’m pleased that we’re re-establishing ourselves and we’ve found ourselves again.”
