Hill: It Has Been A Good Start

17 August 2015

Manager Keith Hill has been reflecting on Dale’s start to the season in his latest interview…

Rochdale have had an excellent start to the 2015-16 campaign, securing six league points from an available six, and progressing to the second round of the Capital One Cup.

Speaking on Monday morning, Hill told Dale Player: “It has been a good start.

“Obviously we’re only two games into our league campaign, but we want to try and maintain our form, and more importantly, we want to try and maintain the results.”

Hill continued: “I’m pleased with the first week and there’s a lot of optimism and a lot of confidence. I’m also pleased with what we’re producing at this moment in time but we want to improve and we want to continue trying to be successful on the pitch.

“We’re relatively young and inexperienced at times but I think the structure of the team is good.

“And like I said, the players are playing with confidence and they believe in what we’re trying to achieve - everybody seems reasonably happy.”

He added: “There are still question marks and there are going to be question marks throughout the course of the season, but we’ve got to keep raising the bar.

“We’ve got to keep asking questions of the players, of the tactics and of the shape of the team, with respect to the opposition, and we’ve got to keep coming up with permutations to get results on the pitch.

“At this moment in time, everyone is signing from the same song sheet and we’re reasonably happy, but again, I must stress that we are only at the end of week one.”
