The pre-season friendly schedule for Rochdale’s Youth Team has been set.
The under 18 side will play four matches in preparation for the new season, as well as taking part in the annual summer tournament at Carrington, which Dale’s under 18 side won last year.
Rick Ashcroft, Dale’s Head of Academy Coaching, commented: “We put together a schedule before the season starts so we can look at everyone and give them all game time. We get different tests and challenges within that, and Carrington is one of those. It’s the one that’s first on everyone’s lips [when talking about pre-season] and this year it’s early, which is good. It gives you an idea of where you’re at and it’s a great day playing short games. The pre-season schedule should be testing for us, definitely.”
The schedule is as follows:
Wed 16th July, Tournament at Carrington v Man Utd/Burnley/Oldham (Behind closed doors, fans not allowed access).
Sat 19th July, Bradford City v Rochdale
Wed 23rd July, Rochdale v Bury
Sat 26th July, Chesterfield v Rochdale
Tues 29th July, York City v Rochdale
