We’re delighted to announce that Ian Henderson has signed a contract extension, committing himself to the club for a further year.
Hendo still had a year remaining on his current contract, but both the club and the 29-year-old were keen for him to pen a new deal. It sees him contracted to Rochdale until the summer of 2016.
Manager Keith Hill told the club’s official website: “I’m really pleased. Hendo has been an integral part of the reinvention of Rochdale Football Club. Not only that, he is football wise, he is street wish and he is mentally mature as a person.
“He has a found football club that has a common goal with Ian Henderson, with respect to the way that we want to play the game, the way we train, the way we communicate with one another and the way we respect one another. He has, if you like, found a bit of a footballing home. Ian is integral to the development and the future of the football club, and is a pleasure to work with.
“For him to sign the extension shows great testament to the belief he has, not just in me, but the squad of players that we’ve got.”
