We’re on the look-out for families who can provide accommodation for our youth apprentices who are moving away from home this summer.
Families are required to provide a private bedroom, healthy meals and a home-from-home for the 16-18 year olds.
It’s all year round and runs from the last week in June until the middle of May, with the players usually staying for six nights a week as players will usually go home on Saturday afternoons/evenings depending on whether the first team are at home, and if their family home is in reasonable travelling distance.
A monthly sum will be paid by the club to cover costs.
A normal day will look like this:
Landlord/Landlady would prepare a healthy and nutritious breakfast between 6.30am and 7.30am and the apprentice would leave for work around 7.45am-8.00am.
Landlord/Landlady would prepare a healthy and nutritious packed lunch for the apprentice to take to work.
The apprentice would arrive back between 4.00pm and 5.30pm (unless they had a game or the first team had an evening home game) and the Landlord/Landlady would prepare a healthy and nutritious evening meal.
The apprentice would retire to his room or designated relaxing area until lights out at an agreed time.
Potential families will need to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau check before being able to house one of the young players. Anyone who thinks they might be able to help should contact Anthony Thompson by emailing anthony.thompson@rochdaleafc.co.uk or by calling Sarah Ashton on 08448261907.
