Calvin Andrew Joins Rochdale

25 July 2014

Manager Keith Hill has bolstered his attacking options with the addition of Calvin Andrew.

Hill had been running the rule over Andrew this week, with the frontman appearing from the substitutes bench in Tuesday night’s pre-season friendly against Bolton Wanderers.

The 27-year-old has penned a two-year-deal at the club.

Andrew started his career at Luton Town, before spending four years at Crystal Palace. Port Vale and Mansfield Town followed, with York City being his most recent club.

He has also had loan spells at clubs including Bristol City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Millwall during his career.

Hill is pleased to have him on board: “I watched him play against us last season and I was impressed with his physical attributes – he was left footed with a good touch and had awareness of his team mates and the opposition.

“I’m really pleased that he has signed and I’m quietly excited about the prospects of working with him. The way we play football will suit him, there’s no question about that.

“I was convinced when I first saw him. He has a great character and I believe that we can get the best out of him.”
