Ladies Day At Spotland

16 January 2014

Rochdale AFC have teamed up with Link4Life in a bid to encourage more women to watch and play football in the Borough.

As part of the partnership between Dale’s Football in the Community Trust and Link4Life, women (supporters aged 17 and over) can watch Dale’s Sky Bet League Two encounter v Plymouth Argyle on January 18th 2014 for just £10! In order to gain access to the match for this discounted price, women attending the match must enter the ground via Turnstile 22 in the Pearl Street Stand.

Meanwhile, weekly women only football sessions, staffed by Trust, will be starting on Tuesday 21st January 2014 at Kingsway Park Sports Centre (6pm-7pm).

Gillian Bishop, the Interim Chief Executive Link4Life, commented: “I’m excited to be involved in this partnership which aims to get more women involved in football. Rochdale Borough needs to do more to get women interested and playing football, so hopefully this incentive and the weekly training sessions will be the start of exciting things for women’s football locally.”
