Be Part Of Dale's Fourth Round Tie

17 January 2014

Manchester County FA are working with their official transport partner in the hunt for a Metrolink Mascot to take to the field at Dale’s FA Cup with Budweiser fourth round tie v Sheffield Wednesday at Spotland on January 25th.

The chosen Metrolink Mascot will meet and greet the players in the tunnel before walking out on to the pitch.

Metrolink Director Peter Cushing believes this is a fantastic opportunity for a young Rochdale fan and is encouraging children from the local area to tell them why they deserve to be considered for the one-off role.

"As official travel partner of Manchester County FA we do our very best to support local communities and get involved in local events, that’s why we’d like to offer this once in a lifetime opportunity for a young Rochdale supporter,” said Mr Cushing.

"Our Rochdale line extension to the town centre is due to open in March 2014 and we’re excited to be able to bring more passengers closer to the action.

"If you know someone who would like the chance to become the ‘Metrolink Mascot’ for the next match, please send their name, age and contact details along with a reason why they deserve the opportunity to Metrolink@bjl.co.uk and one of our representatives will be in touch if they are chosen."

Please note that the deadline for entries is midnight on Monday 20 January and the selected parent must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
