Manager Keith Hill says he is glad that Callum Camps has committed his future to the club with the enthusiasm that he has done.
The talented 17-year-old signed his first professional contract last weekend, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2016.
Hill told Dale Player: “I asked Callum about the possibility of him signing a professional deal and he didn’t ask about the figures, he just said I want to sign. That’s the commitment I want from the young players.
“I believe that Callum thinks he’s in a good place to aid his development and to get his opportunities. I think he’s nearing ready for the first team – his function without the ball has still got to improve, but it’s that type of commitment I like.
“He’s put his trust in us and he’ll definitely be one player who can make a massive impact for us this season. It’s a massive part of his development and I’m just so glad that he committed with the enthusiasm that he has done.”
