FITC: Player Visit

1 October 2013

Skipper Peter Cavanagh and striker Godwin Abadaki visited St Mary’s Primary School in Middleton last week as part of the Rochdale AFC Football in the Community Trust’s Respect programme.

The programme, which runs throughout the school year, sees the Trust team attend schools throughout the area to engage with youngsters through their week long coaching and education programme.

Head of Football in the Community, Keith Hicks, commented: “This activity is a vital part of the Trust’s commitment to the Rochdale and surrounding area, and is supported by the PFA who provide much needed funding to the Football League Trust.

“The importance of professional footballers going into and engaging with primary and secondary pupils cannot be underestimated through their input into our week’s intensive programme.”

The Respect programme is one of many initiatives delivered by Dale’s Football in the Community Trust in the local area. For more information on the work they do, click HERE.
