Young defender D’Arcy O’Connor says he very appreciative of being given the opportunity to play first team football after joining Hyde FC on loan until January.
It’s the 18-year-old’s first loan spell away from Spotland and joins the already onloan Reece Gray at Ewen Fields.
He told www.rochdaleafc.co.uk: “Every footballer wants to play first team football. Obviously there are a lot of players here and a lot of players in my position so I know I’ll have to wait for my chance.
"Going out on loan gives me the opportunity to go and play some games which will benefit me as it gives me the chance to mature in a man’s game. I’m very appreciative of the opportunity.”
He continued: I’ve played at Ewen Fields with the reserve team and it’s a class pitch to play on. Reece has told me some good stuff about the club and he has been telling me that all they need is a bit of luck."
