Youth Team Finish On A High

15 April 2013

Dale’s Youth Team finished their league campaign on a goal scoring high as they put four past Morecambe on Saturday.

Danny Whitehall took his account to 14 for the season with a double, while left back Scott Tanser netted once to take his tally to 9. An own goal from the visitors made it four.

It has been an impressive season for the youngsters who have lost just two league games this season and have the best goal difference in the division, however eight draws has seen them miss out on top spot to Wrexham.

The Dragons were crowned Champions on Saturday but have finished just three points ahead of Dale who are currently in third place. Fifth placed Walsall still have two games left to play and can leapfrog Rochdale should results go their way.

Although the under 18’s have finished their league season, they still have the final of the Lancashire Youth Cup to look forward to. A date for the fixture has yet to be confirmed.
