Former Blackburn Rovers youngster Matty Pearson has agreed terms with Rochdale following a successful trial period at the club.
The 18-year-old defender, who has spent the last four weeks on trial with Dale, has penned a one-year deal.
Pearson made the trip to Austria with the first team squad for the pre-season camp, and has featured in all three of Dale's friendly matches so far, after being given the opportunity to impress against Radcliffe Borough, Blackburn Rovers and Hull City.
John Coleman is yet to make a final decision on fellow trialists Ian Craney, Danny Johnson and Ray Putterill. All three are likely to feature against Marine FC on Tuesday evening.
