Jay is a goalkeeper who first signed a two-year deal with Dale in the early weeks of the 2019/20 season.
He was then offered a new contract at the conclusion of that deal and has since signed for a further 12 months at the Crown Oil Arena.
Jay (28) came through the ranks at Manchester United and also spent time at Bolton and Accrington, but the majority of his career appearances have come during successful spells at Salford City and AFC Fylde.
He made his Rochdale debut against Manchester City U21 in the Leasing.com Trophy, before getting his league bow in Dale’s 3-1 win at Bolton due to an injury to regular number one, Robert Sanchez.
