Jamie Allen enjoyed an excellent first season as a professional at the Crown Oil Arena after being offered terms at the end of his scholarship in April 2013.
The midfielder, who was captain of the club’s successful youth team, made his senior debut in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win at Port Vale in October 2013.
He followed that up at the start of November 2013 with his first goal in Dale’s 2-1 home defeat by AFC Wimbledon and netted a further five times to help his hometown club to promotion.
His performances saw Allen named League Two Player of the Month for March 2014 and he was rewarded with a contract that kept him at the Crown Oil Arena until the end of last term, a deal that has now been extended until the summer of 2018.
