Toumani is a midfielder who joined Dale on a free transfer from Morecambe in June 2022, penning a one-year deal at the Crown Oil Arena.

The 35-year-old has most recently enjoyed success with Morecambe, winning promotion to League One in 2021, before being part of the side that helped keep The Shrimps in the division on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign.

Born in Paris, Diagouraga started his professional career at Watford in 2004 and spent four years at Vicarage Road. Spells at Hereford United and Peterborough United followed, before he joined Brentford in 2010 after a successful loan with The Bees.

He made nearly 250 appearances for the London club over six years, during which he was part of the side that won promotion to the Championship in 2013/14. Toumani was almost an ever-present the following season as Brentford made it to the play-off semi-finals.

From there, the Frenchman went on to join Leeds United in January 2016, before stints at Plymouth Argyle, Fleetwood Town and Swindon Town preceded his move to Morecambe in January 2020.
