The Youth Team travel to Accrington Staley on Saturday in the Youth Alliance Cup.
The Youth Team were beaten 2-1 by Morecambe last time out, in a game full of chances with both ‘keepers busy throughout the 90 minutes.
However, a penalty and a header following a free-kick in the first-half was enough to earn Morecambe the win and saw them progress to the next round of the Lancashire FA Professional Youth Cup with Dale bowing out.
A positive that the Youth Team can leave the game with is John Dunlop's consolation goal with the last kick of the game.
The midfielder sent a rocket into the back of the net from 25 yards out, with the ball clipping off the underside of the crossbar on the way in.
Kick-off at the Stanley Sports Hub on Saturday is at 10:30am, with supporters able to attend and watch the game.
