Rochdale AFC Community Trust and Rochdale AFC are celebrating this week after picking up gold at the National Football Business Awards on Friday.

Launched in 2012, the Football Business Awards celebrate the very best in football business and attract over 500 attendees to the ceremony each year.

Rochdale AFC Community Trust were nominated in the Best Non-Football use of Venue category for the innovative One Stop Bus project, which is based at the Crown Oil Arena.

Dale faced stiff competition, being shortlisted alongside  Newcastle United, Liverpool FC, Manchester United and Rangers.

The judging panel is made up of Chief Executives of Football Clubs, Professional Football Associations & Grassroots Football Organisations – all individuals whose knowledge, expertise and experience gives them special insight into the challenges and demands of football business success.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Final Score presenter Jason Mohammed and was held at The Brewery in London, attended by over 500 people.

Designed to celebrate the vital influence of business within football, the Football Business Awards recognise the organisations, teams and individuals who excel in a variety of business, CSR and football governance disciplines.

“I was absolutely gobsmacked when we were announced as winners,” commented Rochdale AFC Community Trust Director Ryan Bradley.

“To win such a prestigious award against the competition that we did is absolutely amazing and certainly unexpected.

“It’s been a tough season on the field but getting national recognition for the work the Club and Community Trust is doing shows that we are punching above our weight off the field.”

Rochdale AFC Community Trust we’re crowned winners, with Rangers picking up silver and Manchester United bronze.
