The Youth Team face a short journey to Partington Sports Village as they face Salford City in the EFL Youth Alliance League on Saturday.
THE LEAGUE
With 19 games played Dale face off against Salford City as both sides look to finish the season in a strong manner.
Salford sit in eighth place with Dale in ninth. Only a point separates them with Dale on 27 points and Salford on 28.
REVERSE FIXTURE
Salford City won the reverse fixture 2-1 when they met at Stalybridge Celtic's Bower Fold in late October. They then met the following weekend in the Youth Alliance Cup Group Stage, where again Salford won the game, this time by a narrow 1-0 score line.
LAST TIME OUT & FORM FOR BOTH SIDES
Since those games late last year, Dale have enjoyed a good run of form. The Youth Team are currently 10 games unbeaten in the league, with their most recent victory coming in a 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town.
Paul Kyffin and Joe Cunningham secured the three points for Lee Thorpe's side on the day. There was a late scare when Fleetwood scored in the fifth minute of added time in the second-half. However, Dale held their own and continued their impressive run.
The Ammies are unbeaten in their last three games, with three wins coming against Shrewsbury Town, Preston North End and Stockport County.
PLENTY TO PLAY FOR
A win for either side could see them leapfrog Preston North End and into the top half of the table, depending on their result against Bolton Wanderers on Friday. Accrington Stanley are also within touching distance, they’re on 29 points but have two games in hand on both Salford and Rochdale.
