2023/24 Disabled Supporters Guide

9 June 2023

Are you one of our disabled supporters and have or are looking at purchasing a 2023/24 Season Card or are thinking about visiting the Crown Oil Arena at some point this season?

We've put together a guide for our disabled supporters to help them with their matchday experience.

If you're looking to purchase a Disabled Supporters Season Card you can do so by purchasing in-person at the Dale Ticket Office, or over the phone on 01706 644648 (option one). Please note that these cannot be bought online.

If you want to see the full details about the 2023/24 Season Cards then click HERE.

Rochdale AFC Limited fully supports the principle of equal opportunities and opposes all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of disability.

The matchday experience is important to everyone. We appreciate that disabilities are wide-ranging and that not all are visible.

It is our aim to ensure inclusivity and understanding for all.

Everything that you need to know can be found HERE.

The article has eight different sections, highlighting all the different bits of information that you need to know. They are:

  • Ticketing - Guidance on how pricing works, how to obtain tickets, and positions within the stadium for wheelchair users
  • Carers - Can enter free of charge, explains expectations
  • Visually Impaired Supporters (Home & Visiting) - Guidance on prices, details on where to go in the stadium as well as information on how to obtain match commentary
  • Guide Dogs - Explains what to do if you're bringing a guide dog with you to a game
  • Car Parking Facilities - Identifies how many disabled parking bays we have and how to obtain one
  • Catering Facilities - Clarity on what to do if you would like some refreshments
  • Accessible Toilets - Where these are located
  • Access to Other Facilities - Explains what other facilities we have at the football club

The passport, which is already being utilised by a number of supporters, aims to improve the matchday experience for fans with disabilities.

Nicola Toolan, Dale’s Disability Liaison Officer, who introduced the scheme at Rochdale AFC, explains more: “There may be occasions when a supporter may wish to ask a member of the matchday staff for assistance, however, they may not, for reasons of privacy, wish to discuss how their disability affects them in a public area, or they may have a communication difficulty, meaning that they encounter problems making their needs known,” said Nicola.

“The accessibility passport, which comes in the form of a card, will mean that the information is written down so that matchday stewards or stadium staff can offer help in a swift manner and offer assistance or support.”

“I've already received positive feedback from supporters since the introduction of the passports and I hope they can be of use to many more fans now and in the future.”

If a person wishes to obtain a complimentary accessibility passport, they can do so by contacting Nicola Toolan, the club’s Disability Liaison Officer.

E-mail to or by calling 07734961927 whereby arrangements can be made for collection.

Waterproof ponchos are available for wheelchair users if required, this is due to the position where they are sat during matches. These can be collected from the Ticket Office on request.

Wheelchair users should enter using the gate appropriate to the stand that their ticket corresponds to. If they require and would like support, then they can be taken by a member of staff to their position within the stadium.

If you do require additional support then contact your nearest steward for assistance and they will inform Nicola Toolan, our Disability Liaison Officer, who will then come and assist you. If she is unable to, then one of our other members of staff will be able to support you.

For any ticketing queries please contact Jan by emailing or by calling 07544853988.

And for any other queries in regards to anything other than tickets for our disabled supporters, then please contact Nicola Toolan by emailing or by calling 07734961927.
