TVOS Preview | Carlisle United (H)

26 January 2023

Rochdale AFC’s matchday programme – The Voice of Spotland – is back for Saturday’s League Two fixture against Carlisle United.

We start with a front cover image of defender Aidy White, who has worked his way back into the Dale team since the turn of the year, only to suffer an unfortunate concussion injury in the recent game against Colchester United.

Manager Jim Bentley gives his views on last weekend’s game at Hartlepool United, after which we have a host of features, including:

THROUGH THE YEARS – what were Dale doing at this time 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 years ago?

BEYOND THE HEADLINE – looking in detail at a previous game versus Carlisle which the Rochdale Observer described as a ‘DAY OF DISGRACE’.

THE KIT CORNER – two classic kits worn by Saturday’s opponents.

ON THIS DAY – previous games and Dale events on 28th January.

ASK STATTO – our statistician answers two more Dale-related trivia questions.

THE WORLD CUP CONNECTION – we link former Dale striker Blair Sturrock to the World Cup.

KEEPING UP APPEARANCES – a special feature on goalkeepers who have had more than one spell with the club.

FANTASY 5-A-SIDE TEAM – 5 players Cameron John would love to manage in his 5-a-side team.

Traveller’s Tales reports on the trip to Doncaster Rovers, while our regular Half-Time Quiz page will get you scratching your heads.

Scrutator gives his views on how much time is wasted in games and Brian Quigley looks at French club Angers. We also have action photos from the Boxing Day game against Hartlepool and the visit to Doncaster.

Visitors Carlisle United get eight pages of coverage, which includes seven players who had a major impact on this fixture in the past.

All this and much, much more will be in Saturday’s The Voice of Spotland, on sale in the Club Shop and around the ground, priced £3.00.
