We caught up with D’Mani Mellor and Owen Dodgson after they joined Dale on Friday.
Read what they had to say on joining the club, looking for regular first team football and growing up together at Manchester United…
ON JOINING DALE
DM: I’m really excited. We trained with the boys this morning, they’re a great bunch of lads. The gaffer is amazing, he gives you great confidence.
It was a good first session. It was good to get to know the boys. It was short and sharp as we have the game tomorrow, but I really enjoyed it.
OD: Buzzing to be here. We’ve met all the lads, the gaffer and the coaching staff this morning. We’ve both been welcomed really well. We’re ready for the game tomorrow and hopefully we can get three points.
GETTING DOWN TO WORK
DM: We want to play as much as we can. We want to keep improving. We’re still young, so every opportunity we get we have to take, and I think this is going to be a brilliant opportunity for us both to kick on in our careers.
OD: We’re ready to give 110%. We want to show the fans that we’re ready for this and will be giving it our all. We want to make our back way back up the league, that’s definitely the aim.
COMING THROUGH AT UNITED
DM: It was amazing being at such a big club at such a young age. Seeing the best players come through and getting to train with them. It was a privilege and one you don’t take for granted.
OD: It was amazing being there from the age of nine. I learnt a lot and the coaches obviously helped me be the player I am today. It was a great experience, and I’ve gone on from there to Burnley and improved even more. The coaching staff there are really good as well.
