Need To Put A Run Together - Keohane

27 February 2023

Jimmy Keohane believes Dale can put a run together that will get us out of the position we are currently in.

Speaking at Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Crewe Alexandra, the 32-year-old knows staying in the EFL would be massive for the club.

“We’ve got to believe that we can get out of the position we’re in,” said Keohane.

“We need to look forward to next week and try to get a result against Stevenage.

“We believe we can put a run together. It’s obviously not a nice place to be. We all want to get out of it.

“I’ve been here a few years now, I know a lot of people around the area, and to stay in this league would be massive for the club.”

The Irishman’s goal earned Dale a point at the Mornflake Stadium but feels we should have come away from the game with all three.

“From a positive point of view, a point on the board is good. But it was definitely there for us to get the three points today.

“I thought we applied ourselves well to the game, we were competitive, and maybe unlucky not to get all three points in the end.

“When we’re on top, like the first 15 minutes [today], that’s where we need to score and put teams to the sword.

“Sometimes we can play good football against the better teams in this league and we need to compete week in, week out, apply ourselves as we did today for large parts, and keep moving forward.”
