Community Welfare Focus This Saturday

18 August 2023

Dale’s fixture against Eastleigh this coming Saturday (19th August) will be our dedicated community welfare game.

Rochdale AFC Community Trust will be showcasing the work they do around cost-of-living support, which includes free activities that are available and the ‘Dale Food Pantry’.

We are asking anyone attending the game, or in the days leading up to the game, to donate items to the food pantry. During the week, items can be dropped off at the Community office between 10am and 4pm. On matchday, items can be dropped off at the blue bus between 1:30-3pm.

In exchange for every item you donate, you will receive a raffle ticket per item. You will then go into a draw to win the Ultimate Matchday Experience, including:

  • Match-day hospitality in the 1907 Lounge for six people
  • Behind the scenes tour
  • Mascot for the day
  • A full Rochdale AFC Playing kit
  • Signed football

Products you may bring include;

  • Tinned items; tomatoes, beans, vegetables, soup, tuna, hotdogs etc.
  • Cereals
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Noodles
  • Lifelong milk
  • Toiletry items; sanitary products, shampoo, body wash, soap, toothpaste & toothbrushes etc.

On matchday, our Inclusion Coordinator Liz will be available at the ‘One Stop Bus Stop’ located on Pearl Street. Liz will be discussing everything we offer to support the current cost of living crisis and help signpost to other organisations who can help provide further support.

Our Health and Wellbeing Coordinator Chloe will be available at the bus to collect any donations and discuss food support or how you can support the ‘Dale Food Pantry’. Our food pantry currently helps up to 35 people per week and is aimed at being a top up shop of cupboard essentials to help those who may need some further support.

We will be joined at the match by Dale Food Pantry users to provide them with the opportunity to attend a Rochdale fixture this season. Any donations to the food pantry will be much appreciated.

For more information or to ask any questions about items to donate please contact chloe.meade@rochdaleafc.co.uk or visit Dale Food Pantry – Rochdale AFC Community Trust.
