Rochdale AFC Community Trust Shortlisted For North West Football Award

26 September 2022

Rochdale Football Club is pleased to announce that Rochdale AFC Community Trust have been chosen as finalists in the 2022 North West Football Awards (NWFA).

The Armstrong Projects NWFA pays tribute to and recognises those who achieved footballing excellence both on and off the field during the 2021/22 season.

Rochdale AFC Community Trust are shortlisted in the Community Initiative of the Season category, in recognition of ‘The One Stop Bus’ project, which saw an end of life TFGM School Bus stripped out and converted into a space for a food pantry and learning zone as well as a sensory area and quiet space on matchdays.

Ryan Bradley, Community Director at Rochdale AFC Community Trust, commented: “The Bus has played a huge part in the lives of many, supporting those on the brink of poverty with affordable food and boosting peoples confidence and helping them gain employment.

“It’s great to be nominated at such as a prestigious awards ceremony. We’ve come along way over the last 12-18 months as an organisation and this is a great reward for everyone’s hard work.”

Dale face tough competition, with entries from Liverpool, Everton, Preston North End, Wigan Athletic and Burnley making up the category.

The Gala Dinner takes place at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford on Monday, 07 November from 6.30 pm, hosted by Eilidh Barbour.
