We've Got To Go Again - Tyrese Sinclair

23 October 2022

Tyrese Sinclair says Dale can use the defeat against AFC Wimbledon as fire in the belly for Tuesday’s game away to Tranmere Rovers.

Dale were beaten 2-1 at home by the Dons on Saturday, but the forward insists the players can’t get too down.

“The lads are very disappointed,” said Sinclair.

“We started the game well but gave a sloppy goal away. We couldn’t really get the momentum going again. For the second goal, there were a lot of claims that it was handball. Then they lump it forward and they’re in for the goal.

“Looking back at it, both goals are sloppy from us. Once we scored the goal, they were going down with a lot of injuries and on another day, we get a couple of decisions from the referee.

“We can’t get too down because we’ve got a tough game again on Tuesday. We’ve got to go again. We can’t be feeling sorry for ourselves. For the last five games before this we didn’t feel sorry for ourselves so I don’t see why we would on Tuesday.

“We can use it as a bit of fire in belly to go again. It’s going to be tough, but we’ve got to believe in ourselves and see what happens.”

Sinclair got on the scoresheet and earned a second Man of the Match award in two games.

His goal pulled one back for Dale less than a minute after going two down.

“D [Devante] made a run in behind and got his head up. I’ve made a run across the box, he’s pulled it back to me and happily I got the goal, but I would have taken the three points instead.

“It’s good to be back in the starting 11 for the last two games and get Man of the Match twice, but again I’d rather have the results. I’ve just got to keep going and try to keep the shirt.”
