Director Andrew Kelly has confirmed that he will retire from the Board of Directors, having chosen not to seek re-election at the upcoming AGM.
The rest of the Board and everyone at Rochdale Football Club would like to thank Andrew for his outstanding contribution to our club.
We are also pleased to confirm that he has accepted an invitation to become a Life Vice President, in recognition of his considerable contribution over many years.
Andrew commented: “It has been a privilege to be a Director of this club for many years, but at the age of 78 – 79 next week – I am finally hanging up my boots.
“I look forward to continuing to support the club as Life Vice President.
“I would also like to wish Tony Ellis, Chris Brown and their players the very best of luck in tonight’s FA Youth Cup tie against York City, which I look forward to attending.”
Andrew originally joined the Board in June 2006 and, over two separate periods of service, has contributed over 15 years to the club.
Most notably, he has supported the development of the club’s Category 3 Academy and ethos of developing young players as well as serving as Interim Chairman.
He will go down in history as one of several key shareholders who stood firm in the July 2021 and did not sell his shares, preventing an unwanted hostile takeover.
Thank you, Andrew!
