One of Rochdale AFC’s Elite Development Squad’s (EDS) have recently been crowned winners of the ELF CEFA North West Division One.
Our Liverpool-based EDS team triumphed in the Community & Education Football Alliance League (CEFA), winning their division by seven points.
The EFL invited the players and staff to the League One playoff final at Wembley to present the team with their trophy.
EDS Academy Manager Brett Issitt said: “The lads have represented our great football club with dignity and respect.
“They are young men who needed guidance to create skill sets and pathways for their life, working hard all year educationally and in a sporting manner.
“On behalf of the EDS, we would like to thank the EFL, parents, staff and players for their amazing work and progress.”
Now into its seventh year, the EDS incorporates all ages from eight-to-21-years-old, allowing young people the opportunity to develop at a pace, level and pathway that suits their needs.
There are five full-time EDS sites across the north of England that deliver education and football development to over 300 children.
