Dale Esports Co-Manager Walking 20 Miles For Charity

27 May 2022

The co-manager of the Dale Esports team, Tom Roberts, will be walking 20 miles next month to help raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Tom was diagnosed with a heart condition called Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome last year.

He was 27 years old when he got his diagnosis, but had unknowingly suffered from this condition all of his life.

Thankfully on the 28th February 2022, Tom received his life changing surgery to ease his hearts irregular rhythm and bring it back to a regular beat.

On Saturday 18th June, one year on from Tom’s diagnosis, he will be walking with a group of friends for 20 miles, from Edgeley Park, to Old Trafford, over to the Etihad, and back to Edgeley Park.

They are raising money for CRY. Since its formation in 1995, the charity has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death. The also promote and develop heart screening programmes and funds medical research. Click HERE to read more about the charity.

If you’d like to donate and sponsor Tom, you can do see HERE via his JustGiving page.

Good luck, Tom. Wishing you all the best with your walk!

If you're wondering why Edgeley Park - although Tom is the co-manager of the Dale Esports team, he is actually a Stockport County fan, hence why he's starting his challenge at Edgeley Park.
