Further to the statement of 16 March 2022 relating to alleged breaches of EFL Regulations, the Board of Directors can provide further comment as follows.
First, the Board of Directors - and therefore the club - noted in an announcement on 30 June 2021 that it had become aware of a group or individuals who were attempting to buy shares from shareholders with a takeover in mind.
The Board noted it was NOT in support of this action, conscious of both existing shareholder sentiment and EFL regulations relating to changes of Control.
Second, the EFL have charged "a number of individuals" with alleged breaches of EFL Regulations.
The individuals charged have rights under the Data Protection Act and therefore cannot be named by either the EFL or the club.
The club can, however, confirm that no current Board Director or current employee is subject to any EFL charges.
The club has fully co-operated with the EFL at every stage of their investigation and will continue to do so, having already provided the EFL with a considerable volume of their evidence.
Further comment will be made when it is appropriate to do so.
