Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Cameron John.
The 22-year-old defender has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.
“I’m really excited about the project here and I can’t wait to get going,” said John.
“As soon as I knew I was coming to Rochdale, I’ve been excited to get here and see the boys and get involved, get a good pre-season in and be ready for the first game of the season.
“The playing staff [played a big part in why I wanted to come here]. The way they play football is what I want to do. And the style and the overall feel of the club as well. I’ve always heard good things about the club so it appealed to me.
“This club is giving me an opportunity to come and enjoy football and love football again, and I’m going to come and repay that faith and enjoy my time here.”
John rose though the youth system at Wolverhampton Wanderers before going out on a season-long to Doncaster Rovers during the 2019/20 campaign. A successful stint there saw him make a permanent switch to the Keepmoat Stadium in the summer of 2020 for an undisclosed fee.
He also impressed during his time with the Wolves Academy and was a key member of the under-23 side which secured promotion to Premier League 2 Division 1 in 2018/19. He wore the Captain’s armband on several occasions as the side won the title.
Welcome to the Crown Oil Arena, Cameron!
