Rochdale Football Club is pleased to announce that John Smallwood has joined the board as a non-executive director.
Having been involved at the club in various guises since 2012, John has been assisting the directors on a consultancy basis since last July, providing advice and support on the share issue and other matters.
His new non-executive director role will see him oversee Company Governance and special projects.
John commented: “I am really pleased to have been asked to take on this role and I hope to bring my experience of the last 10 years as associate director and, for some of that time, as club secretary, to assist in taking the club forward. The close season is really busy behind the scenes and this year has been busier than many. This board have worked hard to provide a solid base on which to build the future and with the new season starting at the end of this month, I am looking forward to being involved."
Chairman Simon Gauge added: “I’m delighted to welcome John onto the board an as non-executive director. He has supported the new board and myself personally over the last year through his consultancy work and he has been a big help with the recent share issue. Having been at the club for a decade, John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the board and I’m pleased that he has agreed to join us as a non-executive director.”
