Gaffer Looks Ahead To Bradford City Game

21 January 2022

Robbie Stockdale spoke to the club’s website ahead of the visit of Bradford City on Saturday.

“On Monday, we had our normal post-match, which brought good discussion about how we started the game,” said the gaffer.

“It wasn’t good enough. We brought pressure onto ourselves. We won’t use the fact that we hadn’t played for a long time, but we did look like a team that was a bit rusty.

“We have also been focussing on the things that we did well in the game. We need to have more threat going forward and we need to start the game better.

“On the plus side of that, the last game we had here was probably our best performance of the season. We need to try and not only match that, but be better than we were against Newport.

“It will be a difficult game. Bradford will bring lots of supporters, so it should be a good atmosphere. We want to get back to winning ways, and it’s a great opportunity for us in front of our home supporters.

“They’re a strong team. They’ve got an experienced manager who has had success at this level. It will be a very difficult game. Everybody’s form in this league, apart from the top few, is a little bit here and there.

“We need to get some consistency now. You think we if we replicate the way we played against Newport, then we can’t not move up the table.

“We want to perform well here, every time we step on to our home ground. Any successful team has a good home record, and if we can send the fans home happy like the last time we were here, then everyone’s a winner!”
