Robbie Stockdale Previews Forest Green Rovers Trip

8 February 2022

Read the thoughts of Robbie Stockdale ahead of Tuesday night’s game at Forest Green Rovers.

“It’s [preparation] been fine,” said the gaffer.

“Saturday meant we couldn’t train either, as our training ground was under water. Our boys got a training programme to do at home over the weekend instead.

“Yesterday we travelled mid-afternoon and trained at West Brom on the way down. Big thank you to them for letting us use their facilities. We had a good training session and then moved on to the hotel. We’ll do some bits today and prepare right for the game tonight.

“It's obviously a very tough game for us, they’re top pf the league. When they came to our place earlier in the season it was a very close game. They came out on top, but overall, it was very competitive, and we expect it to be the same tonight.

“We feel that whenever we play, if we play to our potential, we’re a match for anybody, and that’s the message. We need to make sure that we do perform to the best of our abilities to have a chance in the game.

“Every game poses its own difficulties. In general, this season, we’ve seemed to fair better against the teams at the higher end of the table than the lower ones.

“We’ve got to take the chances when they come. We look very solid as a team at the moment, we’re not conceding many goals, but the challenge is to turn some of these draws into wins. We’re on the back of three undefeated, but we haven’t won any of them, so that’s the next bit to get right.”
