Youth Team Report | Stockport County 0-4 Rochdale

28 August 2022

The Youth Team recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Stockport County in the EFL Youth Alliance on Saturday morning.

A brace from Jadel Yaduat, along with goals from Paul Kyffin and Bassit Mandey helped Dale cruise to a comfortable victory in the end.

It was a second win over Stockport this week, after the side beat County on Tuesday in the EFL Youth Alliance cup.

Goal scorer Mandey could have had a brace from himself. His drive early into the game was well saved by Stockport 'keeper Billy Brake.

County nearly broke the deadlock in the 26th minute, but were denied by the woodwork. Jakub Hebda wriggled his way through the Dale defence but struck the bar with his effort.

Rochdale opened the scoring soon after. A fluid move found Kyffin on the edge of the area, who struck it well beating 'keeper Blake to give his side the lead.

Dale then went searching for a second. Max Sutton went for goal from range, but just overhit his effort and it dipped over the bar.

However, soon the second came. Anisio Jesus danced his way through the defence and tried his luck, his effort was well saved by the goalkeeper, but it deflected and bounced into the path of Yaduat who improvised and scored acrobatically to solidify the lead.

Dale started the second half as they finished the first and got two quickfire goals. Jesus showed great awareness and pressed the ball winning it back for Dale, his initial shot was saved but he laid it on a plate for Mandey to get his goal.

The game was then well and truly put to bed. George Nevitt’s cross was latched upon by Yaduat who headed home past the 'keeper to give Rochdale a first win in the league.
