Team Dale Take On Tough Mudder

18 August 2022

Rochdale AFC Community Trust will again be taking on the 10K North West Tough Mudder – and they are looking for supporters to sign up to the challenge!

Last year a team of 15 runners from our Military Veterans Programme took on the 10 mile course and raised over £1500. The Community Trust are hoping to surpass that target this year.

Money raised this year will be split 50/50 between Rochdale AFC Community Trust and the Dale Trust, helping to raise money for a mobile sensory kit for children and adults with disabilities, as well as the Dale Trust's legal costs campaign.

The course, at the picturesque Cholmondley Castle, features obstacles such as Artic Enema, Mud Mile and Shock Therapy – but don’t worry, the emphasis is completing the course as a team and enjoying the challenge in a festival style atmosphere.

“Some people think it’s a race, but it definitely isn’t!” commented Ryan Bradley, Community Director.

“It’s a challenge – it’s the fun of the obstacles, working together with not just your teammates but everyone on the course to get through it is really special. Nothing is timed, everyone goes at the slowest persons pace – the atmosphere is electric and the buzz you get from completing it is something else. If you are fit enough to walk a 10k, the adrenaline will get you through the rest!”

Taking place on Sunday 11th September, transport is provided from the Crown Oil Arena, as well as a team t-shirt, support crew, food and a beer (or soft drink) at the finish line!

The cost to take place is usually around £200, but for those who sign up and pledge to raise money, the entry fee is just £10!

Full support in setting up a JustGiving page will be provided.
